Fun Times in Philly: Miracles in Middletown

Hello!

This week I got a new companion. Her name is Sister Wright and we lived in the same room in the MTC. How cool is that? She is so awesome, obedient, and hilarious. We get along so well and have seen so many miracles already.

For example: met a man 2 weeks ago on an exchange as we were walking down the street. His name is Jason. He is from the hood in NYC. He didn't show for his first appointment and the second time we stopped by to set up one. So we got a time all scheduled and then..... couldn't find a sister... We asked this recent convert named Vatisa and she never got back to us. The time was close to 5:30 and we decided to stop by and try to schedule something else. It was kind of rough day anyway because everyone was cancelling. But! Vatisa called like 10 minutes before the appoint and said she would go! We were amazed because she is hard to get ahold of and now we could go teach him. Then went to another recent converts house that recently went through deaths in the family. Vatisa said she felt a strong prompting to come with us to the appointment. It was so cool and inspired.

We found a Spanish family and started teaching them. :)

Went to my favorite place besides wawa called Friendly's and I got to sign to a deaf couple. The cool thing is all these signs were coming to mind and I remembered way more than I usually do... thanks to the spirit.

Met a LA named Sister Keatts who invited us over for dinner on Christmas!

We knocked on a potential investigators door and she was so frazzled. running to and fro she even left her keys in the door. We talked a little and she told us to come back later in the week. We gave her the He is the Gift card and the day we were to stop by she actually called us. She told us her and her husband watched the video and it was so timely. Exactly what she needed. They loved it! She invited us to stop by anytime after the holiday. She remembers what is truly important and decided not to even worry about a tree this year. What a miracle! This kind of thing never happens.

Had Christmas conference on Friday where we got to relax a little and have some fun. We played Preach My Gospel Jeopardy (Totally won!). Watched 17 miracles (remember that Marg and Rach?). It was amazing!! Best movie ever! They had such simple faith and amazing things happened. Then there was a talent show and it was so hilarious. I am so grateful for funny people. They really pushed everyone to do a talent and although most people didn't plan one random people would just get up and do something! It was amazing! One guy was like Mozart on the piano. Another new missionary got up and did the hoola. Someone else used the force (star wars) to throw a missionary off a chair and brainwash president to send him to Philly. It was funny stuff.

It was a great week and this transfer is going to be awesome. I can just feel it.
